EDIT: Think I found it, merely information technology says I'm not eligible because I already own it (never bought it before), but when I go to the game page it says I have to pay to download it. :/
- #4
Redownload it from your library.I did a complimentary trial years ago but dropped it after a few days. Am I nevertheless eligible for this new one? Too how the hell do you lot discover it on the PSN store? All the versions I'm seeing cost money to download.EDIT: Think I found it, but it says I'chiliad non eligible because I already own it (never bought it earlier), but when I go to the game folio it says I have to pay to download it. :/

If y'all oasis't bought the game, so you're still on a trial account and should exist fine. The FFXIV free trial is listed under demos on the PS StoreI did a complimentary trial years ago but dropped it after a few days. Am I all the same eligible for this new one? As well how the hell do you lot find it on the PSN store? All the versions I'm seeing price money to download.
This is true too. Which is dumb, only that'due south Square Enix for youFYI, if you played in the original beta, you lot can't do the trial unless you contact support and convince them to do the "one time ever" change for your account. Cool that beta participation locks you out of trails ;p
- #6
EDIT: nevermind. Looks like I downloaded it once before, and was able to dig it out of my download list.
- #vii
- #8
I wonder if my account would work on PS4 if I tried to reactivate information technology...
- #9
It's worked for my many different PSN region accounts.
- #ten
I messed effectually with FF14 years ago when it had some complimentary trial and I think that might be some other reason why my account isn't showing "Free Trial". Looks like I'll demand to use my other account.
- #11
Us VersionDoes anyone accept a link to the trial on the Playstation shop? Perhaps I'm simply an idiot but I cannot seem to detect information technology.
UK Version
I likewise want to put it out there that rpm was the one who saw the demand for this. At the time we idea grouping it with the tips thread would be sufficient, only given the corporeality of questions I run across that they were right to think this needed its own thread. Thanks for your work.Redownload it from your library.
- #12
There'due south no gratis trial option.
- #14
- #15
- #16
Yeah, while I figured a thread like this would be useful, I was hoping to add information technology that info onto your tips thread since so it would be a ane finish shop of everything you needed to get started, both on the business relationship side and in-game, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I also want to put it out at that place that rpm was the ane who saw the demand for this. At the time we thought grouping it with the tips thread would exist sufficient, but given the amount of questions I meet that they were right to think this needed its own thread. Cheers for your work.
Thanks for all the work you've done on both the tips thread and threads like these. They're really making a difference for a lot of people who'd like to jump in.

This likewise applies to the gratuitous trial. If you play the free trial through Steam, you will only be able to update to the Steam version of the game.
- #19
- One (one) Free Trial account may be registered using a Square Enix account so long equally that Square Enix account has not been previously registered with any version of the game.
- #20
- #21
That's my interpretation yes. The free trial will be locked to its current platform. It may be different for the normal PC version. So if I get the gratis trial on Steam I cannot play the free trial with that same grapheme on PS4? It has to exist a paid character?
- #22
That's my estimation yes. The free trial volition be locked to its current platform. It may be different for the normal PC version.
aw shucks, I just wanted to see if my laptop could actually handle it before playing it on PS4. Thanks anyway :)
- #23
- #24
Welp, no Free Trial for me. Somehow, fifty-fifty after creating a new account on PS4, with a completely unlike postal service, it says I already own the Starter Edition. WTF?
Did you perhaps link it dorsum to the aforementioned SE account?
- #25
- #26
Did you perhaps link it back to the same SE account?
nope, don't even have a SE account however D:
- #27
Was this on the same Square Enix and Steam account? Or was the trial on some other platform?I bought the Complete Edition when it was on auction on Steam for the Winter Auction and since I had already played a free trial earlier at some point on some platform information technology wouldn't permit me run the game and unlock all the DLC and whatever. It was really frustrating then I merely gave upwardly.
Try creating a new Square Enix service account and registering the free trial to that.nope, don't even take a SE business relationship yet D:
- #28
The trial was without Steam, and my current SE account is linked to everything. If I seriously can't play the game without having yet some other SE account then fuck them. Was this on the same Square Enix and Steam business relationship? Or was the trial on some other platform?Try creating a new Square Enix service account and registering the free trial to that.
- #29
Try creating a new Square Enix service account and registering the free trial to that.
thank you for the answer, mate.
For a while information technology seemed the universe itself didn't want me to play the goddamn gratuitous trial - considering my failed attempts on playing the affair on PS4 I decided to bite the bullet, then to speak, and test if my laptop could actually run it or not. I was under the impression it didn't (considering CanYouRunIt showed it every bit "failed") but I idea "what the hell, I'm non gonna lose much".
So I went onto Steam, downloaded the Free Trial and crated a SE account there. Smashing. So it started downloading the update.
BSOD all of a sudden.
Fuck.
Rebooted, tried again. Logged in, started downloading the update. BSOD over again.
Fuck.
And then I really idea that was it. No Free Trial for me. Then I realized information technology was the wifi commuter that was interim upwards - I had a couple of BSOD some days ago related to that, simply I'm outta luck because the "virtually contempo" commuter on my laptop's manufacturer website is from 2016. 20-fucking-sixteen. And then no "oh, make certain you are up to engagement with the wireless drivers!" for me, because (LOL) I AM.
Anyway, if the wifi drivers were the cause of the trouble, I decided to become with a wired connection this time. So I did, and (finally) the update was downloaded and installed without a hitch. And so it was finally time for me to play the goddamn thing, right?
I went and created a grapheme for the free trial and all that. Then "log in".
"unable to create character data".
JFC.
At to the lowest degree a quick fleck of google-fu told me the answer (long story brusk: windows defender protecting a certain folder), I stock-still that and finally, FINALLY, could go the Free Trial to run.
Not smooth, I approximate, non even at 720p, but it's something I guess :P
- #30
Yes, their accounts system is bunk. I don't fault you for being fed upwards with information technology all. Accept yous tried logging in to Mogstation to see what your account status is?The trial was without Steam, and my current SE account is linked to everything. If I seriously tin't play the game without having yet another SE account so fuck them.
Holy moly. Glad yous were able to get it running after all the trouble shooting you had to do.Not smoothen, I estimate, not even at 720p, simply information technology'due south something I approximate :P
- #31
- #32
Yep, their accounts system is bunk. I don't fault you lot for existence fed upwardly with it all. Have yous tried logging in to Mogstation to meet what your account status is?Holy moly. Glad you were able to get information technology running after all the trouble shooting you had to do.
haha, yeah, it was fucking wild... merely at to the lowest degree I managed to get it running. I but hope my laptop doesn't end up melting subsequently this shit :P
- #33
Before I am fifty-fifty given the opportunity to redeem my Steam keys I get this bulletin:Yes, their accounts system is bunk. I don't mistake you for existence fed upward with it all. Have you lot tried logging in to Mogstation to see what your account condition is?
Foursquare Enix Account Management System
This service account does non take a valid FINAL FANTASY XIV license for this platform or your subscription has expired.
To register a license, please visit the FINAL FANTASY Fourteen: Mog Station (https://sqex.to/Msp).

Yes, you lot now have access to heavensward if you resub your account. If I bought Realm Reborn in 2014, and then I start up a monthly subscription now, do I own Heavensward?
Try navigating to FFXIV in your Steam library and see if the registration code is in that location. That might be the one you input to that link. You can right click to view the central. Before I am even given the opportunity to redeem my Steam keys I become this message:Square Enix Business relationship Management System

- #35
FYI, if you played in the original beta, you lot can't do the trial unless you contact support and convince them to do the "one time ever" modify for your account. Absurd that beta participation locks you out of trails ;p
Thanks, I was nearly to inquire. Estimate I'chiliad still locked out.
- #36
- #38
Hopefully not haha. I promise you lot like the game!
Thank you, I hope so!
Regarding the PS4 situation, it might've been the fact that: A) somehow I didn't remember (it'south been about 2 years since) I had activated this panel as "main PS4" which -apparently- meant games could be played on any account on the arrangement, and B) I had already downloaded the Starter Edition (that I got for gratuitous a while ago) onto the panel. So, despite me never even opening that Starter Edition on said console, it somehow registered to ALL users. And even when I created still another alt, with a dissimilar mail, and the "main console" option deactivated... I 'got' the Costless Trial on PSN Store and information technology turned into the FFXIV Starter Edition on my library (evidently? It doesn't say "Free Trial" when I opened my Download List on my fucking LAPTOP -not fifty-fifty my console-, it just says Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn)
- #39
I meet. On Mogstation, are you able to go into account direction settings? I'one thousand bold you're inputting the code to the expansion registration lawmaking box. Brand sure the region matches your Steam region. And you said that previously you had played an FFXIV trial on your SE business relationship right? But on some other platform.Oh I have the codes from Steam. Two of them. Mogstation is not recognizing them.
- #xl
I had played on Windows, outside of Steam. Didn't know in that location was an pick to create a new service account. that was then dumb. Been sitting on this game for months after getting frustrated with it.I see. On Mogstation, are you able to go into account management settings? I'm assuming you're inputting the lawmaking to the expansion registration code box. Brand sure the region matches your Steam region. And you said that previously y'all had played an FFXIV trial on your SE account correct? But on some other platform.
- #41
Ahh I run into. Yeah, FFXIV volition link to your PSN account. Y'all would probably need to create a new PSN for the free trial to work on your PS4.Cheers, I hope and then!Regarding the PS4 situation, it might've been the fact that: A) somehow I didn't retrieve (it's been almost two years since) I had activated this panel as "primary PS4" which -evidently- meant games could exist played on any account on the organization, and B) I had already downloaded the Starter Edition (that I got for free a while agone) onto the panel. So, despite me never even opening that Starter Edition on said console, it somehow registered to ALL users. And even when I created yet some other alt, with a different mail service, and the "primary panel" option deactivated... I 'got' the Free Trial on PSN Shop and it turned into the FFXIV Starter Edition on my library (patently? Information technology doesn't say "Gratuitous Trial" when I opened my Download List on my fucking LAPTOP -not even my console-, it but says Terminal Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn)
- #42
Ahh I run into. Yep, FFXIV volition link to your PSN account. You would probably need to create a new PSN for the free trial to work on your PS4.
yeah, I did. Twice! And it still told me I had already purchased the game :shrugs:
- #43
That might explain things. If y'all were trying to register the codes just it was nonetheless on the old windows business relationship, the Steam codes won't exist compatible with it. You lot'll need to create a new FFXIV service account, which should exist nether account servicesI had played on Windows, outside of Steam. Didn't know there was an pick to create a new service business relationship. that was and then dumb. Been sitting on this game for months later getting frustrated with information technology.
How bizarre. Information technology could be that some other chemical element on the chain was recognized as your former FFXIV account, which was why it kept turning into information technology.aye, I did. Twice! And it still told me I had already purchased the game :shrugs:
- #44
- #45
How baroque. It could be that another element on the concatenation was recognized as your old FFXIV account, which was why it kept turning into information technology.
yep, it beats me. I can but guess it'south the fact that I had the Starter Edition already downloaded into my panel (with my main business relationship, which is also my master PS Store account). I could try deleting the app and and so creating yet some other alt PS Store account (it'd be my 3rd, jesus) to come across if that somehow manages to prepare it, just I'k not sure I'd want to do that now. What if information technology doesn't work anyway?
And, again, up until the point of creating a Square Enix business relationship for the laptop version of the Costless Trial final night, I had no Southward-E account whatever. It's very strange.
Anyway, I capeesh your replies a lot - y'all're taking the time for this shit and you're non even official tech support for this shit hahaha
- #46
It'south because of RMT farms which attempt to circumvent bans, but it ends up making their business relationship system a headache and a pain to bargain with.I haven't played FFXIV since ARR launch on PS4, and I was unlikely to subscribe over again. The new stuff has enticed me just I really desire to become my feet wet for a scrap. Why are they making me leap through hoops to do then? Information technology's ridiculous.
Oh! That would be why haha. It recognized that you lot had the starter edition downloaded on your PS4, and so it got overridden. It might work if you delete your starter edition, and create a whole new PSN, SE account, and FFXIV account. Not really worth the hassle now that you have it going on your laptop lol. But I would delete FFXIV from your PS4 anyway.yeah, it beats me. I tin just guess it's the fact that I had the Starter Edition already downloaded into my console (with my main account, which is besides my chief PS Store account). I could effort deleting the app and and then creating withal another alt PS Store account (it'd be my third, jesus) to see if that somehow manages to set up it, but I'm not sure I'd want to do that at present. What if it doesn't work anyhow? And, again, upwardly until the point of creating a Square Enix business relationship for the laptop version of the Costless Trial last night, I had no S-E account whatsoever. It'south very foreign.
Anyway, I appreciate your replies a lot - you're taking the time for this shit and you're not even official tech support for this shit hahaha
- #47
yeah, it beats me. I tin can just approximate it'southward the fact that I had the Starter Edition already downloaded into my console (with my main account, which is likewise my main PS Store account). I could attempt deleting the app and and so creating yet some other alt PS Store account (it'd be my third, jesus) to see if that somehow manages to set it, merely I'grand not sure I'd want to exercise that now. What if it doesn't work anyway? And, again, up until the bespeak of creating a Square Enix account for the laptop version of the Free Trial concluding nighttime, I had no S-Due east account whatsoever. It'southward very foreign.
Anyway, I appreciate your replies a lot - y'all're taking the time for this shit and you're non fifty-fifty official tech support for this shit hahaha
Yeah it is weird, I thought I had an account, turns out I didn't? Observe that super strange
- #48
Can't link to your PSN right? It's probably because your PSN is already linked to the old account. You can contact SE customer support to de-link the two so y'all tin can link your new account with your PSN. Or you can brand a new PSN.Kinda bummed I can't play on PS4. I can't for the life of me recollect the login I used when it was free earlier so I tried to brand some other, turns out that worked but I can't link it.
- #49
Tin't link to your PSN correct? It'due south probably because your PSN is already linked to the old business relationship. You tin contact SE customer support to de-link the two then yous can link your new account with your PSN. Or yous can brand a new PSN.
I reached out concluding dark, and trying to login with my new account on PC is giving me trouble. Even my security question won't be accustomed nor my i time password when trying to login on a PC.
- #fifty
Does this happen when logging in to Mogstation?I reached out last nighttime, and trying to login with my new business relationship on PC is giving me problem. Even my security question won't be accustomed nor my 1 time countersign when trying to login on a PC.
